Right now all of my sessions are online. Though I work out of Berkeley, CA and when sessions return in person, I will hold office hours there.

I am considered an "Out-Of-Network" provider, which means I do not accept any insurances directly.
If you would like to use your insurance, then I am able to provide you with a monthly receipt called a "Superbill" and you can submit this to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. I recommend calling your insurance provider directly and checking with them to confirm if you have "Out Of Network" benefits.
Otherwise you can choose to see me privately and not involve your insurance at all. See why many of my clients choose this option below.
-
Some of my clients actually prefer to work with me privately and not involve their insurance at all. This is because in order to use your insurance for counseling, a mental health diagnosis is required, and this gets attached to your record. Insurance can also put limitations on the number of counseling sessions you can have, prior to truly completing the process.
And by not taking insurance, I’m able to maintain a smaller caseload of clientele and devote all of my focus into helping people. Instead of taking hours each week going back and forth with insurance, I devote that time and energy to my clients, resulting in better outcomes for therapy.

I have a 24hr cancellation policy. If you do not cancel prior to this time you will be charged the full fee for the session.
-
Prior to starting our work together you will review and sign my private practice policies, as well as consents for treatment. Additionally I will often ask for release of information for other providers such as doctors, dietitians, psychiatrists. This ensures my ability to make sure you are getting the most comprehensive cohesive care possible.
-
Our first session will involve you getting to share a lot about you! I will ask questions about historical and current stressors. It will serve as a way for me to get to know you, and to understand what your core issues are. From there we will strategize together to plan clear goals to work on with our time together.

Primarily I work with women who are struggling with eating disorders. Generally these women are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, are seeking to process their emotions, or past traumas. Additionally, oftentimes these women are battling a strong inner critic, and have lost touch with how to accept and love themselves. I focus my work on women who struggle with these issues and see that these issues are at the core of their disordered eating.
The women I work with don’t always have an eating disorder. They can be facing these deep issues of self worth and it can be impacting their lives in a different way. I love supporting women in finding their truth, their power, and their deep inner knowing.
I occasionally work with teen girls struggling with similar issues. I have a limited number of spots in my practice for teens, so please feel free to inquire if I have the space.

I offer compassionate, present, mindfulness inspired therapy to all who seek to show up and start the journey of change.
I use skills based in self-compassion and mindfulness to inspire an increased level of presence in the lives of my clients. When the presence increases people become more accepting, more gentle, and more welcoming of the whole version of themselves.
My approach in supporting you is creative. I am a creative human seeking places where we can find newness, opportunity, potential, and possibility. At times I will incorporate the arts into our work as a way to discover more of who you are.
-
That depends on if you want it. I find that some people love homework, do it, and come back to the next session ready for more. Others really respond to keeping the work in the session.
I will always give encouragement of something to think about between sessions, or a nudge to work on something. I assign homework in the form of skills and tools if that is what someone is really looking for.
-
I like to start off with weekly sessions. From there we can determine if perhaps you need more than one session a week, or if we can eventually taper off to every other week.
